Dr. Marco Tieman is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of LBB International, a supply chain strategy consultancy and research firm. He has been advisor to businesses and governments on halal industry strategy, halal assurance systems, halal supply chain management, halal purchasing, halal ecosystems, and halal risk and reputation management. He is the project director of Modern Halal Valley, a 500 hectares halal ecosystem development in Indonesia. He is a board member of Al Madinah Heritage Company and  the Halal Product Development Company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is also a member of the technical committee TC10 Halal Supply Chain of SMIIC in Turkiye.

Dr. Marco Tieman is a Senior Fellow with IPMI International Business School (Indonesia) and an Adjunct Professor with Saito University College (Malaysia), conducting research on halal procurement strategy, halal supply chain management, and halal risk and reputation management. He completed his PhD on ‘the application of halal in supply chain management: principles in the design and management of halal food supply chains’. He won academic awards for his research on 'principles in halal purchasing' and 'principles in halal supply chain management'. He is a member of the Senior Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Islamic Marketing (Emerald, United Kingdom) and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Islamic Marketing and Branding (Inderscience Publishers, Switzerland).
